Brisbane Etchells

Royal Queensland Yacht Squadron

Welcome to Brisbane Etchells!  We’re a friendly bunch of Etchells sailors at RQYS and welcome all to join in.  Whether you just want to try out on an Etchells for a day to get experience or you’re existing Etchells crew visiting from out of town, get in touch and come and experience the amazing racing on Moreton Bay.

August 2019:  Open Day at RQYS is upon us already for the 2019 / 2020 season and we’re hitting the ground running!  We’re kicking off with the traditional Etchells Brekkie at the hard stand on 31 August and will then be following up with a Racing Rules Refresher on Saturday September 14 09:30-10:30 at RQYS.  We’ll let you know the venue closer to the time.  We also have some Gill brand 2018 Worlds clothing kit still available at bargain basement prices.  Bear with us for a few weeks as we repopulate this new website to make it gleaming and shiny again and full of really helpful information.  And don’t forget to follow us on Facebook

Visit the Race HQ page from the nav bar above for more information and updates.

Best was yet to come? Arguably it was, but you certainly had to wait for it… Mind you, there was nothing wrong with the theory overall. Get them out there nice and early, enjoy a race in absolutely stellar conditions, complete the series, get the boats back on their road trailers, and then finally, have […]

Short, sharp, and certainly very sweet! Rumours of no wind towards the tail of the 2019 Etchells Australian Championship would appear to have been great over-exaggerated. Patience came to see Prudence! It was quite the thing. If yesterday had been marvellous, then what could you possibly say about the Wednesday, other than it was the day for the now world famous David and Sue Healey BBQ? These have become a must do component of any Brisbane Etchells event, and Wednesday night’s […]

Winners are Grinners! Lisa Rose celebrate their overall win in style! Seen a lot of water. Been to a lot of places. Today, Brisbane pretty much offered the classic mix of sun, and just enough wind for the last two races of the 2018 Etchells World Championship. I think it is fair to say that […]
